I have found the True Guru, the great, all-knowing King; He has shared with me the many Glorious Virtues of the Lord. ||3||

In plain words

By great good fortune I received the sight of the good, and it washed away every stain.

I found the true teacher, the great all-knowing one, who shared with me the many glories of the One.

Being near genuine goodness is itself cleansing — like sunlight. You're changed not only by what you do, but by who you spend time near. And such meetings feel like pure good fortune.
The deeper layer

This part says that being near real goodness makes you clean inside.

Vadbhaagee means "by great good fortune." Again the meeting is a gift, not a prize someone won. Darsan saaDh is the sight of the good. Just seeing them, sabh kilbikh ga-ay gavaajhaa — every stain is washed away. Being close to real goodness cleans you, the way sunlight freshens a stuffy room when you open the curtains.

This whole raag trusts in good company. You are changed not only by what you do, but by who you are near. The teacher doesn't lecture him into being pure. The sight of goodness, received as a gift, does the washing. Guru Ram Das keeps moving change away from hard effort and toward relationship.

A Question to Sit With

How do the people you spend time with 'rub off' on you? Can good company change you almost without effort?
