O Nanak, one whose mind is filled with this Nectar - all his pains are dispelled. ||1||

In plain words

The One is the true Healer.

The healers of this world cannot heal the soul; they only leave it carrying more pain.

The Guru's Shabad is sweet nectar, delicious to take in.

Nanak says: whoever's mind is filled with this nectar — all their pains are wiped away.

Some aches need a deeper medicine than the body's.
The deeper layer

The One as the true physician (vaid), and the Shabad as sweet nectar-medicine. The "physicians of the world" are those who offer worldly cures for the soul's sickness; doctors who care for the body are not being dismissed — when you are ill, they are a gift. The ache of separation from the One is a deeper hurt that needs a deeper cure. A mind filled with that nectar finds its pains dispelled — the Name as medicine.

A Question to Sit With
