With Every Breath

Forever and ever, remember Him, day and night,

while standing up and sitting down, with every breath and morsel of food.
ਜਾਗੁ ਸੋਇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥

While awake and asleep, enjoy the essence of this meditative remembrance.

The Lord's meditative remembrance is obtained by good destiny. ||7||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Remember the One always, day and night,

standing up and sitting down, with every breath and every bite of food.

Awake or asleep, enjoy the sweet taste of remembering.

Remembering the One comes by good fortune.

The best practice is woven into every small moment of the day.
The deeper layer

Here remembrance is woven into ordinary life — 'with every breath and morsel of food' (saas giraas), not set apart in special hours. And it comes as good fortune (sanjog), a gift received. This is the sacred hidden in the everyday.

A Question to Sit With

What is a tiny moment in your day where you could pause and remember something good?
