Love, Not Just Big Talk

sayvak jan sayveh say vadbhaagee rid man tan pareet lagaavai.
The humble servant serves; one who enshrines love for the Lord in his heart, mind and body is very fortunate.
bin pareetee karahi baho baataa koorh bol koorho fal paavai. ||3||
One who talks too much without love, speaks falsely, and obtains only false rewards. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The humble servants who serve are very fortunate; they keep love for the One woven through heart, mind and body.

Whoever talks and talks with no love behind it speaks what is false, and gets back only false fruit.

Love woven through your actions is worth more than the biggest talk.
The deeper layer

Preet is love; the fortunate ones let it run through rid, man, tan — heart, mind, and body, not just the tongue. Koorh is the false, the unreal (the same family as jhooth), and koorho fal is its hollow fruit. This is the sach / koorh line the Gurus draw again and again: true living against mere performance.

A Question to Sit With

When have your quiet actions said more than your words?
