Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:
ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਜਪਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥

Night and day, I chant the Lord's Name.
ਆਗੈ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਉ ਥਾਉ ॥

Hereafter, I shall obtain a seat in the Court of the Lord.

The disease of ego never afflicts me. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Night and day, I chant the Name of the One.

In the world to come, I will find a place in the Court of the One.

I am always in joy, and sorrow does not come to me.

The sickness of ego — the feeling that I am a separate self, cut off from everyone — never touches me.

Remembering the One is like staying well — the ache of feeling separate loses its hold.
The deeper layer

Ha-umai rog — ego named as a disease, something to be healed rather than blamed. When you remember the One night and day, the sickness of feeling separate loses its grip. Dargeh is the Court, the presence of the One.

A Question to Sit With

When do you feel most at ease inside yourself?
