Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Your Name, O One, makes the fallen clean again.
Give this gift to the one who serves You.
Be kind, O One, and set me free.
Nanak says: I have taken hold of Your shelter, O One.
The Name makes the fallen clean, and it comes as a gift you ask for.
The Name purifies the fallen: patit puneet. Apnay daas ka-o keejai daan: that cleansing is a gift (daan), asked for and received. Saran gahee: Nanak grasps the sanctuary and rests in the shelter of the One.
