Forever and ever, I seek the Sanctuary of the Lord. There is none other than God. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Whatever pleases the One is what comes to be.

Forever and ever, I seek the shelter of the One.

There is no one else but the One.

Life moves in its own current; there is deep rest in trusting it.
The deeper layer

What pleases the One is what happens. This is Hukam, the flow of existence: not a set of orders barked from above, but the way life moves. You can rest in that flow, sheltered by the One.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line at the centre of the shabad: jo tis bhaavai so thee-aa. It steadies everything that follows.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you let go when something is simply out of your hands?
