Verse 11 of 26

A King Who Rules With Virtue

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਵੈ ਆਸਣਿ ਘਰਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਦਲੁ ਕਰੇ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ॥੧੦॥
sabad ravai aasan ghar raajaa adal karay gunkaaree. ||10||
Seated in his home, this king chants the Shabad; he administers justice and virtue. ||10||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Seated at home in himself, this king keeps the Word alive,

and governs with fairness and goodness.

A good ruler of your inner life leads with fairness, not force.
The deeper layer

Sabad ravai aasan ghar raajaa — the king, seated in his own home, dwelling in the Word; adal karay gunkaaree — ruling with justice (adal) and virtue. A mind rooted in the Word governs its senses not by tyranny but by fairness. Inner sovereignty done well.

A Question to Sit With

What would it look like to lead your own thoughts with fairness?
