Verse 3 of 4

The One You Lean On Is Itself Carefree

ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਵਡਾ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ॥
kudrat keem na jaanee-ai vadaa vayparvaahu.
His creative potency and His value cannot be known; He is the Great and carefree Lord.
ਕਰਿ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੂ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਘਟ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਹੁ ॥੩॥
kar banday too bandagee jichar ghat meh saahu. ||3||
O human being, meditate on the Lord, as long as there is breath in your body. ||3||

In plain words

Its creative power and its worth cannot be measured — the Great and carefree One.

Human being, hold the One in mind for as long as there is breath in your body.

The One you lean on is itself carefree — unanxious, needing nothing — so its care flows from fullness, and some of that ease can become yours.
The deeper layer

This one calls the One vayparvaahu — carefree. It means free of worry, needing nothing, completely at ease.

That is a freeing thought. The One we lean on is never stressed or stretched thin. Its care comes from being full, not from effort. Think of a big lake feeding a stream. The lake doesn't strain to give water. It is simply full.

Kudrat keem na jaanee-ai — no one can measure the One's power or worth. Then comes the steady advice. Kar banday too bandagee jichar ghat meh saahu — remember the One as long as there is breath in you. Make your whole life a remembering.

Lean on a carefree One, and some of that ease can become yours.

A Question to Sit With

What would it be like to lean on a support that is itself completely at ease, never strained?
