Praise your Husband Lord, together with your bridesmaids and friends.
The body is beautified, and the mind is fascinated. Imbued with His Love, we are enraptured.
Adorned with the Shabad, the beautiful bride enjoys her Husband with virtue.
This one says that praising the One is best done together with friends.
Pir saalaahee aapnaa sakhee sahaylee naal: "praise your beloved together with your friends." The sakhee sahaylee are the bride's closest friends. Here they stand for the Saadh Sangat, the company of good people. Praise is not only a private thing. It grows when we share it.
Think of a choir. Your voice sounds fuller when others sing with you.
Then the heart is caught. Man mohi-aa means the mind is "won over," charmed. Across the Guru Granth Sahib, real love for the One is described this way. Something reaches deep into the heart and stays. Once you truly feel it, you cannot un-feel it. And the bride, made beautiful by the Word, is loved for her goodness.
What is the quality of communal praise or celebration that feels different from private devotion? When have you experienced that communal quality most vividly?
