Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The Name is beyond any price. No number exists large enough to express its value — because value itself comes from it.
Those who find themselves in love with the Lord — this didn't happen by accident. Something, somewhere, prepared the ground for this. Good fortune, long cultivated, now flowering. That is what it feels like to enjoy the Lord's Love.
"No one knows its value"
Kīm na ko'ī jāṇdo — "no one knows its value." The Name is priceless not merely because it is very expensive but because no measuring system exists that could express its value. Every measuring system — wealth, status, happiness, years — is itself contained within and dependent on the reality the Name points to. You cannot price the thing that all pricing depends on.
"Good destiny recorded on the forehead"
Jinā bhāg mathāhi — "those who have good destiny recorded upon their foreheads." This returns to the "pen on the forehead" image from the Pehray (Shabad 129, Pauri0). The soul's destiny is written before birth. Those who find themselves drawn toward the Lord, who find themselves in love with the Name — their destiny was already inclined this way. The finding feels like a discovery; it was also always a return.
*Do you believe that the longing for something real — for the Lord, for truth, for genuine love — is itself evidence that what you long for exists?*
