In plain words

Meditate on that Name whose Command rules over everything.

Chant that Name that will save you at the very last moment — at the end, when everything else falls away.

Chant that Name that drives out all hunger and desire from your mind.

Very fortunate is the Gurmukh who chants the Naam — even slanderers and wicked enemies fall at their feet in the end.

Before the Greatest Name of all, everyone bows.

Chant the Name that saves at the very last moment — everything else falls away and only that remains.
The deeper layer

"At the very last moment"

Har nāmu jap man, antu kalī jā'ie bachā'i — "Chant that Name of the Lord, O my mind, which will save you at the very last moment." The Pauree focuses on the ultimate test: the last moment. Death is the moment when everything that has been accumulated — wealth, status, relationships, reputation — falls away. Only the Name remains. The Pauree's instruction is to invest in that which holds.

This connects back to the Vanajaaraa's opening claim: the Name is the "only Companion in the end." The Pauree elaborates: it specifically saves you at the very last moment. It is not just that the Name goes with you; it actively saves you at the point where nothing else can.

Slanderers fall at the Gurmukh's feet

Nindak dushat duhtī'ā, tinh ke charanu lag jā'ie — "very fortunate and blessed is that Gurmukh who chants the Naam; it shall bring all slanderers and wicked enemies to fall at his feet." One of the most striking claims about the Naam's power: those who spoke against the Gurmukh, those who wished them harm, those who slandered — they ultimately end up at the Gurmukh's feet. Not through the Gurmukh's effort or revenge, but through the Name's natural authority.

"Before the Greatest Name, all bow"

Har harī'ā nāmu satgur, tin āge sabh natī — "before which all come and bow." The Name's authority is universal. Before the genuine divine Name, every other name, every other authority, every other position — bows.

A Question to Sit With

*What do you think you will want to have in your mind and heart at the very end of your life? What does that tell you about what to invest in now?*
