This is Kabir's second refrain — the second pause in the song. He uses it to give the answer to the first refrain's question.
The first refrain asked: how can anyone find You through all this fog? The second refrain answers: in this association.
What association? The gathering of seekers — the Sangat, the company of those who are all reaching toward the Lord together. In that company, Kabir says, there is no death. Not the kind that matters.
And when you live inside the Hukam — the Lord's own Command, the way things actually are — you find yourself meeting the Lord Himself. You stop fighting reality, and in that stopping, He is there.
The 'Second Pause' (doojaa rahao) is structurally unusual in the GGS — most compositions have only one rahao. Kabir uses it to close the shabad with a second summary statement that answers the first. Where the first rahao asked 'how?' in the face of Maya's fog, the second gives the answer: this association. The Sangat — the Lord's Company, both the gathered community of seekers and the inner state of companionship with the Divine. In this association, maran nahee — death is not. The mechanism is the Hukam: to recognize that everything is unfolding in His Order is to stop fighting reality. And in that recognition, the Lord is met.
Have you ever felt that being with certain people brought out something in you that you couldn't find on your own? What was that like?
