Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
He is the Master who made the world bloom — who makes the universe blossom, fresh and green.
He holds the water and the land — the fluid and the solid, the changing and the fixed — in his hands.
Hail to the Creator. Not as a performance of praise, but as the honest recognition of what is actually happening.
Shabad 27 is in the Fourth House — again a different musical register. This shabad opens with ecological praise: the world blooming under divine creative power. Haraa bharaa — fresh and green — is the visual quality of the living universe.
"Holds water and land in bondage" — the word bandhiya (bound, constrained) is used. The water is bound — it cannot exceed its banks without permission. The land is held. This is not a restriction on the divine's creation but a description of the order embedded within it.
Do you experience nature as something designed, something random, or something that blurs that distinction? What do you think when you see something in the natural world?
