My mind has let go of the world. It longs to see Your Vision, O God.
Blessed is Your Place.
This is the pause line, the Rahao, the center of the song. It is the voice of someone who has one big wish: to see the One.
Man bairaag bha-i-aa — my mind has become bairaag, which means it has let go of its grip on the world. Darsan daykh-nai kaa chaa-o — now it longs for Darshan, the sight of the Beloved. Dhan so tayraa thaan — blessed is Your place.
Think of a kid at summer camp who is having fun, but at night keeps thinking of home. The games are nice. But what the heart really wants is to see Mom or Dad again.
The verse before said the soul will one day leave the body. So what should the soul carry with it? The Naam, the remembered Name of the One. It is the treasure the soul needs for the journey. It goes where the body and our things cannot.
That remembering has two sides. One is remembering the Lord's Name. The other is being helpful to others. They are not two separate jobs. The One lives in everyone, so serving people and loving the Lord are the same love, facing two ways.
Are you more naturally oriented toward personal spiritual practice or toward service to others? What would it look like to bring the two together as expressions of one thing?
