In plain words

The One Lord is the Doer, the Cause of all causes.

God protects and preserves His humble servant. He does not let the servant fall short.

The Guru's Mantra has come to dwell in the heart. The darkness of ignorance has been eliminated.

The Guru's Mantra dwelling in the heart eliminates the darkness of ignorance — the light doesn't fight the dark, it simply is.
The deeper layer

The divine as Kartaa (Doer) and Karan Kaaranaa (Cause of all causes) — the philosophical formulation of divine sovereignty. Not just that God does things, but that God is the ultimate cause behind all causes. Every causal chain, followed to its beginning, arrives at the divine.

The Gur mantar man vasio (Guru's Mantra dwelling in the heart) — the specific function of the mantra: it dwells within and eliminates agian andheraa (the darkness of ignorance). The mantra is a light in the mind that dissolves darkness not by fighting it but by illuminating what was always present.

A Question to Sit With

What has been a mantra for you — a phrase, a teaching, an idea — that you return to again and again when lost, and that consistently reorients you? What is it, and why does it work?
