Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The Lord of the World is the most beautiful of all. Remembering the One is the life of everyone.

Nanak says: the One is found in the Sangat, on the clear path of loving worship.

Remembering the One is what makes everything else come alive.
The deeper layer

Remembering the One is what gives life to everything.

The One is the most beautiful of all. And simarna sarbatar jeevnah — remembering is the life of everything. The verse says this One is found in the Sangat, on the savachh maarag, the clear path of loving devotion.

Think of a favorite song played on an old speaker, then on a good one. It is the same song. But now you hear every note. Remembering the One does not compete with the world's beauty. It turns the volume up on it.

And this aliveness grows when shared. Among people who love the One, beauty feels bigger.

A Question to Sit With

When has an ordinary moment suddenly felt beautiful and alive to you? What do you think opened your eyes?
