Savaiye in praise of Guru Ram Das, Verse 5 — the world light as a bubble

Those who come to know the steady, unchanging Word, like Dhroo, are saved from death.
They cross the wild ocean in a single moment. The One made this world like a bubble on water.
In the Sangat, the coiled knot inside comes loose. Through the Guru's word, they taste the highest joy.
The great Guru, the Master, is above all. So serve the True One in thought, in word and in deed.
Those who hold the unchanging Word cross the wild ocean in a moment, because the world is only a bubble on water.
Jalhar bimb means a bubble on water: lovely, and gone soon. Dhroo, a child in a story from Hindu tradition, held on to the unchanging Word and became steady as the pole star. Those who know that Word are saved from death.
Kundlanee surjhee comes from yoga: the coiled energy inside comes untangled. Here it happens in the satsangat, the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One. Through the Guru's word, they taste the highest joy. The bard ends: serve the True One in thought, word and deed.
