Salok Vaaraan Te Vadheek (Mehl 1), Salok 26 — The Creator Is the Doer

man meh jhoorai raamchand seetaa lachhman jog.
In his mind, Raam Chand mourned for Sita and Lachhman.
hanvantar aaraaDhi-aa aa-i-aa kar sanjog.
Then, he remembered Hanuman the monkey-god, who came to him.
The misguided demon did not understand that God is the Doer of deeds.
naanak vayparvaahu so kirat na mit-ee raam. ||26||
O Nanak, the actions of the Self-existent Lord cannot be erased. ||26||

In plain words

In his mind, Raamchand mourns for Sita and Lachhman.

He calls on Hanuman, and Hanuman comes, as it was meant to be.

The misguided demon does not understand that the One is the Doer of every deed.

Nanak says: what the Carefree One does cannot be erased.

The One is the Doer behind every story, and what the One does cannot be erased.
The deeper layer

Behind every deed in the story, the One is the Doer.

The Ramayana again. Man meh jhoorai raamchand: Raamchand mourns in his mind. Hanvantar aaraaDhi-aa: he calls on Hanuman, who comes kar sanjog, by the meeting the One arranged.

Bhoolaa dait na samjha-ee: the misguided demon does not see that the One is doing all of it. Vayparvaahu, the Carefree One, does things that na mit-ee, cannot be erased.

A Question to Sit With

When has help arrived for you at just the right moment, in a way you did not arrange yourself?
