In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Before there was anything, there was one Sound — and from that one Sound, everything came.

From it came Brahma, the maker-god of old, who kept that Sound in his heart.

The mountains rose from it. The long stretches of time unrolled from it. Every wise book was written to point back to it.

Through its Word, that same Sound lifts the world up, and carries across those who turn toward the Guru.

So listen closely, because this one Sound is the heart of everything that exists.

Everything that exists flows from one Source — and that Source is closer than sound.
The deeper layer

Ongkaar is Ik Onkaar — the One creative Sound and Reality from which all creation flows. Brahma, the mountains, the ages and the Vedas all trace back to it. Onam akhar is the primal syllable, the essence of the three worlds.

The whole composition is an acrostic, where the letters and sounds of the alphabet themselves become the lesson. The old Puranic images are honored as fingers pointing at the one Source.

A Question to Sit With

If everything came from one Source, how does that change the way you see the person next to you?
