In plain words

On the eighth day, remember: this body is built from eight simple ingredients, woven together into you.

Right inside it lives the Unknowable One. The One is the King of the greatest treasure there is, hidden like gold in the ground.

The teacher who truly knows this shares the secret gently. Turn your gaze inward, away from the endless chase outside. Rest in the One that never breaks and can never be harmed.

The greatest treasure is hidden right inside you — turn your gaze inward and rest in the One that can never be broken or harmed.
The deeper layer

The greatest treasure there is sits hidden inside you.

This is day eight. Astamee means "eighth." Astamee asat dhaat kee kaa-i-aa — the kaa-i-aa, the body, is made of asat dhaat, eight ingredients. These are the simple parts that build the body.

Taa meh akul mahaa nidh raa-i-aa — inside it lives the akul One, beyond any family line. The One is the raa-i-aa, King, of the mahaa nidh, the great treasure. Picture gold buried under your own house, while you search the whole town for it.

Gur gam gi-aan bataavai bhayd — the Guru who has gam, who has reached this wisdom, shows the bhayd, the secret.

Ultaa rahai abhang achhayd — turned around, you rest in the One who is abhang, unbreakable, and achhayd, unpierceable. Ultaa means turned around. The attention stops chasing outward and rests inward.

The treasure is already inside. The teacher only points you home.

A Question to Sit With

If the best treasure were hidden inside you all along, how would you go looking for it?
