Don't Abandon Your True Home Chasing Outside

ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰੇ ਲੇ ਮਾਹੀਤਿ ॥
mangalvaaray lay maaheet.
On Tuesday, understand reality;
ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਕੀ ਜਾਣੈ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
panch chor kee jaanai reet.
you must know the way the five thieves work.
ਘਰ ਛੋਡੇਂ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
ghar chhodayN baahar jin jaa-ay.
Those who leave their own home to go out wandering
ਨਾਤਰੁ ਖਰਾ ਰਿਸੈ ਹੈ ਰਾਇ ॥੩॥
naatar kharaa risai hai raa-ay. ||3||
shall feel the terrible wrath of the Lord, their King. ||3||

In plain words

Tuesday: take a good, honest look at what's really real, and what only pretends to be.

Learn the sneaky ways the five inner troublemakers work — grabbing, anger, pride, and the rest — so they can't fool you.

Don't go abandoning the true home inside you to go chasing after things outside; that only leaves you scattered and restless. Stay rooted in the One, and you stay whole and at peace.

Know the sneaky ways your inner troublemakers work, and don't abandon your true home inside to go chasing after things outside.
The deeper layer

mangalvaar (Tuesday): lay maaheet — grasp reality (what is truly real). panch chor kee jaanai reet — know the reet (ways, methods) of the panch chor, the “five thieves” (grasping desire, anger, greed, attachment, pride — the inner tendencies that rob peace). ghar chhodayn baahar jin jaa-ay — don’t abandon your ghar (true home within) to wander baahar (outside). The source’s closing line about the King’s “wrath” is handled per the project’s wellbeing lens: we drop the threat-register and keep the natural consequence — abandoning your inner home for outer chasing simply leaves you scattered and restless. The teaching (stay rooted within) is preserved; the fear is not.

A Question to Sit With

Which of your feelings sometimes 'robs' your peace — and what helps you notice it before it takes over?
