Only those who are awakened by the Lord to drink in this Sublime Essence, come to know the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. ||2||

In plain words

This world is deeply caught in cynicism and corruption. It is not easy to find the clear path.

Only those who know the Lord — who have genuinely woken up to the oneness — are saved. Not rescued from the world, but saved from being consumed by it.

Only those whom the Lord wakes up to taste the sublime essence — they come to know the unspoken truth that cannot be put into words.

Knowing the oneness does not remove you from the world's difficulty — it changes what the difficulty can do to you.
The deeper layer

"Saved" here does not mean rescued into an afterlife. It means liberated from the consuming cycle of grasping and suffering in this life. The world's cynicism and corruption are real — Guru Arjan is not denying the difficulty. But the ones who genuinely know the oneness are not destroyed by it. They move through it differently.

The "Unspoken Speech" — what cannot be said — is the direct knowing that comes not from more words or more teachings but from genuine encounter with the oneness. It is beyond language. Those who have it do not necessarily have more to say. They have something in them that cannot be taken away.

A Question to Sit With

Is there someone you know who moves through hardship differently than most people — not because their life is easier but because something in them is stable? What do you notice about them?
