Follow the Path Where the Creator Is Praised

ਬਾਬਾ ਜੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
baabaa jai ghar kartay keerat ho-ay.
O Baba: that system in which the Praises of the Creator are sung
ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਵਡਾਈ ਤੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
so ghar raakh vadaa-ee to-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
-follow that system; in it rests true greatness. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

O Baba — of all the systems, all the paths: follow the one where the Creator is truly praised. That is where the real greatness is.

The right path is the one that genuinely opens you to the oneness — follow that one, whatever it's called.
The deeper layer

The rahao (pause) shabad offers the simple criterion for evaluating any path: does it lead to genuine recognition and praise of the oneness? Not performance. Not ritual for its own sake. Genuine recognition of what is.

This is not anti-intellectual. It is a practical compass: when evaluating any teaching, any tradition, any philosophy — ask whether it opens you to the oneness or closes you into itself. The one that opens you, that increases your sense of wonder and connection, is the right one for you, regardless of its label.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever encountered an idea, a book, a conversation, or a tradition that genuinely opened something in you — made you feel more connected rather than more certain you were right? What was it?
