Not Tools or Status but Love Makes Life Golden

ਸੁਇਨੇ ਕੀ ਸੂਈ ਰੁਪੇ ਕਾ ਧਾਗਾ ॥

My needle is gold, and my thread is silver.

Naam Dayv's mind is attached to the Lord. ||4||3||

In plain words

My needle is gold and my thread is silver — my humble craft has become something precious.

Naam Dayv's heart is stitched fast to the One.

It isn't fancy tools or high status that make a life precious — it's love; do your work with love and it turns golden.
The deeper layer

Naam Dayv closes by transforming his humble tools into treasures: my needle is gold, my thread is silver. The ordinary needle and thread of a poor cloth-worker become precious metals — because they're now instruments of love. When you do your work with devotion, the humblest tools become golden; the ordinary is made precious by the love poured into it. And the final image seals it: Naam Dayv's mind is attached to the Lord — stitched fast, sewn tight, to the One. For a child, the whole shabad lands on a beautiful truth: it isn't fancy tools or high status that make a life precious — it's love. A poor cloth-worker's needle, used with love for the One, is worth more than gold. Whatever you do, do it with love, and it turns golden.

A Question to Sit With

How can doing an ordinary task with love make it feel precious and golden?
