Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Gather this wealth of the One, brothers and sisters.

Fire cannot burn it, water cannot drown it; it never abandons your company, and never wanders off.

The one wealth that fire can't burn, water can't drown, and that never deserts you.
The deeper layer

The Pause names the wealth's security: fireproof, flood-proof, and faithful — "it does not forsake society, or go anywhere else." Unlike worldly goods, which can be destroyed or lost, the wealth of the Name stays. This is the theft-proof treasure of Shabad 97, here also loyal — it never deserts you.

A Question to Sit With

What do you have that could never be destroyed or stolen?
