ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
jee-a paraan Dhan har ko naam.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is my soul, my life, my wealth.
ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾਂ ਉਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
eehaa oohaaN un sang kaam. ||1||
Here and hereafter, it is with me, to help me. ||1||

The Name of the One is my soul, my life, my wealth.
Here and hereafter, it stays with me to help me.
The Name is soul, life, and wealth all at once — and the only one that crosses death with you.
The Name is everything a person holds dear, all in one.
Think of three things people hold most dear: their soul, their life, and their money. Jee-a paraan dhan har ko naam — the Name of the One is my soul, my life, my wealth. All three turn out to be the Name.
And the Name is different from ordinary wealth. Eehaa oohaa un sang kaam — here and in the life beyond, it stays with me to help me. Money and things stay behind when life ends. The Name is the one treasure that goes with you past death.
