My mind is satisfied and satiated by the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Without the One's Name, everything else is useless.

My mind is filled and satisfied by the sight of my Beloved.

Nothing else finally satisfies — the mind is filled only by the sight of what it loves.
The deeper layer

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. It weighs everything else against the Name.

Bin har naam avar sabh thoraa — without the One's Name, everything else is too little. That is not because the world is worthless. It is because nothing else finally fills you up. Think of snacking on chips when you are really hungry for a meal. You keep eating, and you still feel empty.

So what does fill the mind? Taripat aghaavai har darsan man moraa — my mind is full and satisfied by the darshan, the sight of the Beloved. Fullness comes from seeing the One you love, not from piling up more things. Another shabad in Raag Aasaa says the same.

A Question to Sit With

What truly fills you up inside, so you stop wanting more?
