This is right conduct, this is the true way of life: to obey the Command of the One's Will — this is your real worship.
Whoever lives by this, says Nanak, swims across the terrifying ocean.
The truest worship is living your whole life in tune with the One's Will.
The verse gives a clear definition. Right conduct, the right way to live, is "to obey the Command of the Lord's Will." That, it says, "is your devotional worship."
So worship is not only something done at set times. It is living in step with Hukam, the flow of existence, all day long. Think of a dancer who does not just do the steps at practice, but moves with the music wherever it plays. Whoever lives this way, says Nanak, swims across the frightening ocean of the world.
