Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
When you truly know the One, the endless wanting for other things quietly fades.
You turn your heart toward love, and it stays free of worry and anxiety.
Naam Dayv opens with the peace that comes from knowing the One: one who recognizes the Supreme Lord dislikes other desires — not because desire is forced away, but because when you've found the real thing, the endless wanting for lesser things simply loses its appeal. And the fruit is a mind free of anxiety: he focuses on devotion and keeps his mind free of worry. There's a deep connection here that a child can feel: so much of our worry comes from wanting — wanting more, wanting different, wanting what we don't have. When the heart finds what it was truly seeking in the One, the wanting quiets, and with it, a lot of the worry. A heart at rest in love is a heart with far less to be anxious about.
Have you noticed that wanting less can make you feel calmer and less worried?
