In plain words

O my mind, how will you make it across life's deep waters if you're weighed down inside by what's harmful?

You've been dazzled by the false glitter and lost your way.

You can't sail well through life if your heart is weighed down inside by harmful things — keep the inside clear.
The deeper layer

The Pause is an honest, gentle warning to his own mind: how will you cross the world-ocean if you're filled with the water of corruption? The image is vivid — a boat can't cross deep water if it's taking on water inside; you can't get through life well if your heart is filled up with harmful stuff (greed, unkindness, dishonesty). And the cause of the trouble: gazing upon the falseness of Maya, you have gone astray — dazzled by the glitter, the mind lost its way. For a child, it's a clear and caring image: keep the inside of your boat clear of what weighs it down and leaks it, or the crossing gets hard. What you let fill your heart determines whether you sail or sink.

A Question to Sit With

What 'harmful water' would you want to keep out of the boat of your heart?
