ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਆ ॥

He has cured me of my disease, and I have obtained the greatest peace; He has placed the Ambrosial Name of the Lord in my mouth. ||1||Pause||

He has cured my disease and I have found the greatest peace; He has placed the Ambrosial Name in my mouth.
Mercy is the Guru's constant nature — and even the Name in your mouth was placed there.
The Pause: "the True Guru is always merciful" — mercy is His constant nature, not an occasional mood. He "cured my disease" (the sickness of ego and Maya, cf. Shabad 38) and "placed the Ambrosial Name in my mouth" — even the words of remembrance are put there by the Guru.
