In plain words

You have slipped free of the sleep of attachment and impurity — by whose favor did that happen?

The great enticer can't touch you. Where did your laziness go?

When someone escapes what traps everyone else, the real question is: by whose grace?
The deeper layer

The shabad opens with wondering questions put to a soul that escaped Maya: "by whose favor has this happened?" How did you wake from "the slumber of attachment," become untouchable by "the great enticer," shake off "laziness"? The questions imply the answer: not by your own strength, but by favor — grace.

A Question to Sit With

When you've broken a habit that grips most people, was it really by willpower alone?
