Oh bairaagee marai na jaa-ay — that detached one, the soul, does not die and does not come and go. It is a spark that never goes out. Hukmay baaDhaa kaar kamaa-ay — it acts within the Hukam, the One's order.
The One shapes the body, joins the soul to it, and in His own time parts them again. Think of a hand in a glove. The glove moves because a hand is inside it. When the hand slips out, the glove lies still, and the hand is still whole. The whole story of body and soul is the One's doing. Only the One fully knows His own creative power.
