Your Name, O Lord, is the road to freedom.
The road of Death's messenger stays far away.
The Name is a road — and walking it, you travel nowhere near death's highway.
This is the Rahao, the "pause" line. It is the center of the shabad, and it names the safe road.
The true Guru has spoken the truth: naam tayray kee muktay beethee — Your Name is the road to freedom. The Name is more than something you practice. It is a road you walk on.
