Meditate continually on the Name of the Lord within your heart.

sangee saathee sagal taraaN-ee. ||1||
Thus you shall save all your companions and associates. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Keep the Name of the One always in your heart —

and so you will save all your companions and friends along with you.

Holding the Name doesn't just save you — it lifts your whole circle with you.
The deeper layer

Remembrance is not a private salvation: holding the Name "within your heart" saves "all your companions and associates" too. The soul soaked in the Name becomes a means of grace to those around it — its remembrance lifts the whole circle (cf. Shabad 39, saving the family).

A Question to Sit With

How might your own steadiness quietly help the people closest to you?
