We often don't realize the One we're looking for is right inside our own heart.
So we keep piling up the wrong things and forgetting what matters most.
This one is about searching everywhere for the One, who is already inside your own heart.
Jugat jaan nahee ridai nivaasee — he does not know the way to the One who lives in his own heart. We look everywhere for what we are missing. We don't notice that the One is right inside us the whole time.
So we stay caught in the trap. We keep gathering the "poison fruits," the harmful things that never satisfy. And param purakh parabh man bisray — we forget the Supreme One.
Think of hunting all over the house for your glasses, when they are sitting on your head. The problem was never that they were far away. You just looked everywhere except the one place they were.
This is the raag's gentle teaching again. The treasure is not far off, waiting to be hunted down. It is within, waiting to be noticed. Before you tire yourself out searching outside, look inside. The One you are seeking has been at home in your heart all along.
Have you ever searched all over for something that was right where you started? How is the One like that?
