In plain words

Then true wisdom gave me the greatest treasure, and in quiet remembering my heart became one with the One.

Loving the One, I found real peace — full, satisfied, and free at last.

The peace and fullness you chase in all the wrong places arrives, at last, through love of the One — the hunger ends.
The deeper layer

This one is about finally finding the peace you were chasing, through love.

Now the shabad turns. The long, confused search becomes a finding. Gi-aan parvays gureh Dhan dee-aa — the Guru, the true teacher, gave the treasure of wisdom. Dhi-aan maan man ayk ma-ay — in quiet remembering, the mind became one with the One.

The jewel Dhanna had forgotten was given back to him. In loving remembrance, his restless mind finally rested in the One.

And the fruit is just what all the chasing never gave him. Paraym bhagat maanee sukh jaani-aa — loving the One, I came to know peace. Taripat aghaanay mukat bha-ay — full and satisfied, I became free.

The word "full" matters. After a whole life of hungry grabbing, he is finally full. Think of eating snack after snack and still feeling hungry, and then sitting down to a warm home-cooked meal. At last you feel truly fed.

That is the hopeful heart of this shabad. The hunger ends, not with more things, but with the One.

A Question to Sit With

What finally makes you feel truly full and satisfied, in a way that getting more never does?
