My soul and body, and all of this, everything is Yours. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I am Your purchased slave, O True Master.

My soul, my body, and all of this — everything is Yours.

To belong wholly to the One — owning nothing yourself — is the deepest freedom.
The deeper layer

Total belonging: "I am Your purchased slave." Not merely a servant who could leave, but one wholly owned — and gladly. "My soul and body, and all of this, everything is Yours": the soul claims nothing as its own, which is the deepest freedom (cf. Shabad 162, belong to Him).

A Question to Sit With

What might be freeing about no longer calling anything 'mine'?
