Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You are the honor of the dishonored; O Master, in You I place my trust.

Without the True One, every other support is false — know this for certain.

Every support but the One eventually gives way — only it truly holds.
The deeper layer

The Pause: the One is "the honor of the dishonored" — the dignity of those the world shames (cf. Shabad 191). And a clear warning: "without the True One, any other support is false." Every other thing you lean on will give way; only the One holds.

A Question to Sit With

What have you leaned on that gave way, and what has truly held?
