Day and night, with every breath, to worship and adore the One —
please, O True Supreme King, fulfill this, Nanak's desire.
The deepest desire of a soul that has tasted the One is simply to never stop adoring it.
The close names the soul's one desire: not wealth or status, but to "worship and adore the Lord" with "every breath," day and night. The deepest wish of the soul that has tasted the One is simply to never stop remembering it (cf. Shabad 195).
A Question to Sit With
If you could be granted one ongoing thing, what would you want it to be?
