He is the One Lord Master, the roof over our heads; there is no other than Him. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
My Lord and Master fully pervades all places.
He is the One Master, the roof over our heads; there is no other than Him.
The One who fills the whole universe is also the close roof right over your head.
The One "fully pervading all places" is also, tenderly, "the roof over our heads" — both the boundless presence everywhere and the close shelter directly above us. Vast and intimate at once: the One who fills the universe is the very roof that keeps the rain off.
A Question to Sit With
What is both vast beyond you and as close as the roof above you?
