The One Cherishes Every Single Heart

ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਰੀਐ ॥
partipaalay parabh aap ghat ghat saaree-ai.
God Himself is the Cherisher; He takes care of each and every heart.
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਆਪਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ॥੨॥
jis man vuthaa aap tis na visaaree-ai. ||2||
That person, within whose mind You Yourself dwell, never forgets You. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

God Himself is the Cherisher; He cares for each and every heart.

The one within whose mind You dwell never forgets You.

The One cherishes every single heart — and where it truly lives, it cannot be forgotten.
The deeper layer

The One is "the Cherisher" who "takes care of each and every heart" — individual, attentive care for every soul (cf. Shabad 115). And the indwelling is self-sustaining: "the person within whose mind You dwell never forgets You." Once the One truly lives within, forgetting becomes impossible.

A Question to Sit With

What does it mean to be cared for, heart by heart, not just in general?
