The Will That Runs the Universe Is on Your Side

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣਿਆ ॥

He does that which is pleasing to Himself.
ਭਗਤਾ ਕਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
bhagtaa kaa sahaa-ee jug jug jaani-aa. ||3||
He is known as the help and support of His devotees, throughout the ages. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

He does whatever is pleasing to Himself.

He is known as the help and support of His devotees, throughout the ages.

The same free will that runs the universe is reliably on the devotees' side.
The deeper layer

The One "does that which is pleasing to Himself" — the Hukam, free and unconstrained — and is consistently "the help and support of His devotees" across all ages. The same free will that runs the universe is reliably on the devotees' side; His sovereignty and His support are one.

A Question to Sit With

What would it feel like to know the deepest power is also your support?
