In plain words

Come, O friends: let us meet together and enjoy all the tastes and flavors.

Let us join and chant the Ambrosial Name together, and so wash away our sins.

Devotion can be a shared feast — the Name its sweetness, good company its table.
The deeper layer

Guru Arjan pictures loving the One as a feast shared with friends.

"Come, my friends," he says, "let us meet together and enjoy all the tastes and flavors." The flavors are the sweetness of the Name. The Name is amrit, nectar, the sweetest food there is.

Think of a family dinner where everyone brings a dish. The food tastes better because you share it. Here the Name is the food, and the company makes it a feast. Chanting it together, the verse says, washes away our wrongs.

A Question to Sit With

What good thing is best enjoyed together rather than alone?
