Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਚੇਰੁਲੀ ਸੋ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ॥
jaa parabh kee ha-o chayrulee so sabh tay oochaa.
I am God's maid-servant; He is the highest of all.
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਕਾਂਢੀਐ ਥੋਰਾ ਅਰੁ ਮੂਚਾ ॥੧॥
sabh kichh taa kaa kaaNdhee-ai thoraa ar moochaa. ||1||
All things, big and small, are said to belong to Him. ||1||

I am God's maid-servant; He is the highest of all.
All things, great and small, are said to belong to Him.
When everything belongs to the One, the servant has nothing left to clutch.
The soul names itself "God's maid-servant" and Him "the highest of all," to whom "all things, big and small" belong. Knowing the One owns everything frees the servant from clutching anything.
