In plain words

Look at the mother turtle: she lays her eggs on the shore and swims away, with no wings to shelter them and no milk to feed them.

And yet the babies are perfectly cared for. See how the One looks after even them.

Even baby turtles, left alone with no mother to shelter or feed them, are cared for — a larger care is always at work.
The deeper layer

Dhanna gives a wonderful example from nature: the mother turtle is in the water, and her babies are out of the water — she lays her eggs on the shore and returns to the sea, leaving them behind. She has no wings to shelter them and no milk to feed them — by all appearances, they're utterly helpless and alone. And yet — they thrive. The Perfect Lord takes care of them. Dhanna invites us to really look at this and understand it: even a creature that seems completely unprotected is somehow provided for. For a child, the baby turtles are a perfect, wonder-filled lesson: even when care seems impossible, even when a little one looks utterly on its own, a larger care is at work. If the One looks after the baby turtles left on the shore, surely it looks after you.

A Question to Sit With

How do baby turtles survive with no mother nearby? What does that teach about being cared for?
