Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O mind, why do you burst out laughing?

See with your eyes that these things are only mirages — so earn the profit of meditation on the One.

What the careless mind laughs and delights in is a mirage — the only real profit is the One.
The deeper layer

The Pause shakes the careless mind: "why are you so carelessly laughing?" The things it delights in are "mirages" — they shimmer like water in the desert and vanish when you reach them. The only real profit is meditation on the One.

A Question to Sit With

What have you chased that turned out to be a mirage?
