The worthy beings, heavenly singers, silent sages and the knowers of the six Shaastras proclaim that nothing else is worthy of consideration. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The worthy beings, the heavenly singers, the silent sages, and the knowers of the scriptures all say the same thing.

Nothing else is worth thinking about.

Everyone who truly knows reaches the same conclusion: nothing else is worth as much.
The deeper layer

Guru Arjan is saying: all who truly know reach the same answer.

He lists the wisest listeners there are. There are the worthy beings full of good qualities, and the heavenly singers. There are the mun jan, the silent sages. There are those who know the khat, the six great schools of ancient scripture. And all of them agree: avar na kichh laa-eekee — nothing else is worth thinking about.

Think of every doctor in a hospital reading the same scan and giving the same answer. When everyone who truly knows reaches the same conclusion, it is worth listening. The talk of the One is the one thing that matters.

A Question to Sit With

When the wisest people all point the same way, is it worth following?
