Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One is right here, close at hand — never think it's far away. It cherishes you and holds you in mind always.
Whatever it gives, we live on — Nanak says, that One is the truest thing there is.
The shabad ends by saying the One is close by and always caring for you.
Nayrhaa hai door na jaani-ahu — the One is near, do not think the One is far. The One always cherishes us and keeps us in mind.
This closes this long stretch of Aasaa, the raag of hope. It is the truth Aasaa has been circling all along. The One is not somewhere far off or hard to reach. The One is right here, cherishing you.
And the care is practical. Jo dayvai so khaavnaa — whatever the One gives, we live on. Every meal, every day, comes from that faithful hand. Think of a parent who packs your lunch every single morning, even when you forget to say thanks.
Kaho naanak saachaa hay — says Nanak, that One is True, the most dependable presence there is. The One who made you and holds the whole world is near. The One loves you, remembers you and provides for you, always.
How does it feel to know the One isn't far away at all, but right here — cherishing and remembering you always?
